Rachel Akusake

Founder/CEO

I love to see the diversity of both deaf and hard of hearing people including immigrants and refugees to join us as the board of directors. 

Hearing people of color and Child Of Deaf Adults (CODA) are welcoming to join us to make a big impact. “Two heads are better one head”

Sarah Franco

Board member

Member of US Based Deaf Action Foundation. Sarah has a B.S. degree in Child Development and Guidance. Sarah was born and raised in the United States. Her family was immigrated to the United States from Puerto Rico. 

Sarah describes herself as a Direct Support Professional for the ARC Monroe New York and she has been working with the diversity of disabilities in this company since 1996.

She is passionate about helping clients with disabilities in need of advocacy, particularly as it related to intellectual development.

Samuel K. Asare

Board member

Samuel is Hard of Hearing, a Ghanian. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Deaf Action Foundation & Advocacy (DAFA). 

He served as a former president of the the Ghana National Association of the Deaf for eight (8) years. He has been working  as a tutor with Hope College, a senior high hearing school in Ghana since 2014.

Samuel would love to maintain working with DAFA to help the organization achieve its intended goals for the benefit of the Deaf Ghanaians.
